Investigation about accordion-education highly rewarded

A part of the Master 'classical 'accordion' at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen exists of research. The comission rewarded the investigation of Pieternel and Renée with a twelve, which is the highest possible mark in Denmark.

Toeac winner of Legatkonkurrence

On June 17, the Legatkonkurrence for chambermusic took place at th Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen. Pieternel and Renée got the first place and therefore they received a scholarship.

Toeac admitted in soloist-class

Pieternel and Renée are admitted to the soloist-class (education after Master) at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen (Denmark), with chamber music as their specialization. Musicians from Scandinavië and abroad applied and about ten musicians were admitted.

CD-recordings

Coming months Pieternel and Renée will work on their first CD. The recordings will take place on resp. June 2 and October 1 and 2 in the Koncertsal at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen with Marc Casanovas as the producer.

Toeac in cooperation with the NJO (National Youth Orchestra)

Coming summer, Toeac is invited for an amount of concerts and projects at the festival 'Muziekzomer'. A dobbelconcerto will be written for Pieternel and Renée and they will work toghethe Toeac will also cooperate with choreografe Regina van Berkel and the composers Ben Richter and Jeromos Kamphuis to make a danceperformance.

Toeac to Potsdam and Gent

On September 24 and 26 Pieternel and Renée played a concert in Gent and Potsdam. Peter Buske in a review about this concert:

(...) Faszinierend zu erleben, wie auf beiden Instrumenten mit ihren schier unzähligen, perlmuttbestückten Knöpfen sowohl Solistisches als auch Orchestrales gleichermaßen zu wirken versteht. (...) Und mit sich selbst, denn beim Musizieren pflegen sie einen intensiven, auf körperliche Bewegungen der anderen reagierenden Blickkontakt. Dadurch entsteht eine selten gehörte Intensität des Musizierens. Wie bei Bachs Passacaglia c-Moll BWV 582, deren polyphone Verstrickungen und harmonische Veränderungen sich nun klarer und durchschaubarer verfolgen lassen als in der Urschrift. 40 anniversary accordionclass Copenhagen

This year the accordion class in Copenhagen is celebrating his 40th year anniversary. The accordionist Mogens Ellegaard started as a classical accordion teacher at the Royal Danish Academy of Music 40 years ago. M. Ellegaard developed the accordionculture in Scandinavië and abroad.

This was reason for a party... In the week of September 13 there were masterclasses from I. Alberdi and R. Sviackevicius, accordionconcerts, readings and workshops.

Bafana Bafana, Toeac to South-Africa

On August 13 and 14, Pieternel and Renée played concerts in South-Africa. In the early morning of August 13, they played at a morning-show on the national television. A couple of million viewers heard and saw them playing. In the evening they played a private concert at the Dutch Ambassy in Pretoria.

Dobbelconcerto for Toeac

On Februar 19 the orchestra 'De Ereprijs' played several new compositions of young composers. 
A commision led by L. Andriessen chose four composers who received a composition assignment, including a composition for accordionduo and stringorchestra. The Greek composer Nikos Ioakim will write a
dobbelconcerto for Toeac and stringorchestra, which will be played on the festival 'Internationale Muziekzomer' in cooperation with the NJO (Dutch Youth Orchestra).  Read more...
